About Icemist
Icemist was established in 1975 after acquiring an 18 month old Samoyed boy called ‘Sandy’. My father had always loved Samoyeds, and given the opportunity, jumped at the chance at obtaining Sandy.
Icemist a small kennel, just 30 minutes outside of Australia's National Capitial.
Our Samoyeds are successfully shown and trialled with great results. We do not beed many litters, but are Samoyeds are very well known through out Australia.
As we do obedience trialing, many people are amazed with our outstanding reults.
Samoyeds were known, and still are, as a hard breed of dog to train. We wanted to show the dog community that it was not impossible and that a Samoyed could work as good or better than any other top obedience breeds.
My fathers first dog Sandy, was shown with good results in the show ring, obedience was more exciting and challenging and it took priority over showing.
Sandy won 5 straight club obedience competition trials to be awarded the Goldberg trophy in 1977 (to this day unsurpassed) and then cruised on to obtained his CD title winning all three Novice Trials. He was quickly making a name for him self being placed over some of the top obedience dogs in the ACT and NSW. Sandy went on to pass two Open Trials including winning WINNER OF WINNERS (equivalent to an All Breeds Best in Show) in his last trial before heartbreakingly going lame.
Sandy was also the lead dog for the first ACT Samoyed Sled Team in the late 1970’s.

During this period of time we had purchased our first bitch from the well-known Moonsnow kennels near Sydney. I started obedience training with Snowy when I was 13 years of age and we went on to win many club competitions and went on to achieving Snowy’s CD title.
In 1985 we purchased our second bitch and we started to turn a new corner and my parents started showing again. From this time onwards, we would combine both obedience and showing.
Icemist Samoyeds are constantly awarded Best of Breeds, In-Group and In-Show awards and high scores and places in the Obedience ring.
To date, Icemist has achieved nearly 20 Australian Championships, 2 CCD titles, 10 CD titles, 4 CDX title's, a UD tile and 3 Endurance Titles.
Both my parents and ourselves currently have many beautiful Samoyeds ranging from 5 months to 10 years of age.
Our Samoyeds are more than just dogs to us. We treat them as part of our close family.
